What Families & Athletes Say
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Do goalies have to leave home to attend the Academy?
No. Our model is designed to keep families together.
Goalies travel in once per month (Sunday–Thursday) for training in Stillwater, MN, then return home to continue school, team play, and daily life.
Can parents travel and stay during Academy sessions?
Yes. Families are welcome to come and stay nearby during sessions. Where possible, they can stay with Coach Briere and his family.
We’ve built the Academy to be a family-first experience, giving parents the option to be as involved and present as they’d like.
How does schooling work during the season?
Because the Academy runs in monthly blocks, athletes remain enrolled in their regular school.
Most families coordinate with teachers in advance for the few days missed each month, making it a manageable and flexible academic model. We will provide tutoring for students to keep them on track when participating in the program
Is the Academy more cost-effective than traditional development paths?
For many families, yes.
When you combine the cost of private lessons, camps, travel, and multiple coaches, expenses add up quickly.
Our Academy brings everything into one structured, high-level program, maximizing development while avoiding the need to piece together training elsewhere.
Are there sponsorship opportunities or ways to offset the cost?
Yes. We encourage families to explore local sponsorship opportunities (businesses, community support, etc.).
We’re happy to provide guidance and resources to help families offset costs and make the program more accessible.
